Blackjack
Blackjack, also known as 21, is a card game where players compete against the dealer rather than each other. The objective is to have a hand value closer to 21 than the dealer's hand without going over.
RULES
- Each player and the dealer are dealt two cards, with players' cards typically facing up and one of the dealer's cards facing down.
- Players can choose to "hit" (receive another card) or "stand" (keep their current hand).
- Players may also have options to "double down" (double their bet and receive one more card) or "split" pairs (if dealt two cards of the same value).
- If a player's hand exceeds 21, they bust and lose their bet.
- The dealer must hit until reaching a total of 17 or higher and must stand on 17 or higher.
- A natural blackjack (an Ace and a 10-value card) usually pays 3:2.
- If the dealer and player have the same total, it's a push, and the player's bet is returned.
- Insurance is offered when the dealer's upcard is an Ace, allowing players to protect themselves against a potential dealer blackjack.
- Blackjack strategy involves making decisions based on the player's hand value and the dealer's upcard.
- The game's outcome is determined solely by the cards dealt, making it a game of skill and chance.
